Dear neighbors,
Words can’t describe how excited I am to be running for Common Council. I think that the Common Council needs more community input in the decision making process. There are a lot of issues that the city is facing and I want to be an alder you hear in meetings fighting for the issues that matter to you. I would like to see a priority put on expanding affordable housing: the waiting list is just too long. I want to make the development process as transparent as possible: our system is better then most but needs improvement. There is talk of "streamlining" the process, which is a move in the wrong direction. I don't want to drag the process out, but rather ensure that community input is what drives the conversation on development. I would also like to prioritize being more visible and being accessible. I want to know what you’re thinking about the issues and that will be what drives my vote. City issues aren’t widely publicized or covered in the media. I believe it is an alder's job and responsibility to inform the community of what's happening. I am passionate about making sure our neighborhood and community input is priority number one in how we move forward as a city. I encourage you to explore my website to find the information you need. I hope I can count on your support in April 2nd general election.
Sincerely,
Zach Madden
